Since we always have issues with people not having anything installed/not even bringing a copy of the games we’re playing I’m going to lay it out there for all of you: BUY THE GAMES!
Heck, I’m so nice I’m even going to gather up some linkage to places to get sealed copies for cheap so keep reading. So much time is wasted at these LANs trying to get everyone going with patches and installs and so forth that its really annoying for the organizers (ie: me) when I don’t get to sit down to a game until 4 or 5 hours into the LAN. So please people, I’m begging you, purchase the software, install it, have fun at the LAN (hint: installing games DOES NOT qualify as ‘fun’).

Unreal Tournament 2004, ~$18 for a sealed copy (or $14.99 on Steam I think)
Unreal Tournament 3, ~$20 for a sealed copy
Call of Duty 2, ~$15 sealed
Call of Duty 4, ~$36 sealed, check Ebay for some under $30
World In Conflict, ~$25 sealed
C&C: Tiberium Wars, ~$35 sealed, less than $15 for a slightly used copy
CS: Source
Starcraft & Broodwar, less than $20 sealed
Prey, ~$12 sealed
In addition to helping the LAN run more smoothly, actually buying the games really alleviates some major problems we’ve been having with duplicate CD keys being used when pirated versions of the games are used. At the very least please pick up a copy of Prey and UT2004 since we play those the most. Thanks guys.
