Davao Cyber Expo 2008 was launched yesterday at NCCC Mall of davao. Activities include Online Games and Offline Games tournament, Gamers’ quiz, Furom and tutorials on different softwares, and the RIG show. Me and my classmates were there and we attended the tutorial for Maya 3D graphics making and took a look of the enormous number of gamers present in the event. The tutorial was fine but we felt that it was kinda boring because you can’t follow the steps because they’re quite fast and you don’t seem to hear them speak loud because those gigantic noisy speakers and the yell of the audiences in the shows dominated. We decided to vacate the forum and leap into the gamers’ place. There you can see lots of gamers from a 5-year old kid to an adult. Games included in the event were Audition, WarRock, PerfectWorld, and DotA. The organizers of the event also gave CD installers of the game for free and even gave away free items like ballpens, t-shirts and etc. The LAN party / rig show will be tomorrow and for sure huge and expensive rigs will catch the eye of the crowd especially the Hardware enthusiasts. It was my first time to attend the event in my third year of being an IT student..hehehe… The event was participated by lots of people, IT, non-IT and gamers.
