To fill people in, I’ve been working overtime with Mage and Co. in trying to get all the necessary paperwork done for the upcoming LAN center. The plan sort of formed itself early this month, and everyone felt we had enough business experience to make it work, so we’re all busy getting our stuff together. A lot of trees will die in this attempt.
The plan, so far, involves starting a LAN center and used-games store in the Denver metro area with a focus on community and “friendly gaming”. We’re hoping to attract not only hard-core gamers but also those wanting to come play with their friends. We want to be *the* place to hang out on Friday nights.
In order to make it happen, we plan to have community driven events and Saturday night LAN parties every week. We’ll also be selling games, both used and new (more of the former, less of the latter) and have started the Great Inventory Hunt. For CTI, this is a brand new venture and the first time the company will have not only a name but also a store front, so we’re looking forward to seeing our dreams come to fruition.
That said, it’s been keeping me rather busy both with the legal and technical writing aspects of the whole endeavor. Since I’m not strictly speaking qualified to do either, certainly not any more than any other college dropout, I’ve been having do to a lot of learning on the side. It isn’t leaving me much time for blogging, much less coherently posted content. Expect much more as we get over this hill and focus on aspects I’m not responsible for.
So, if you’re in the area come early September and have survived the DNC (more about this later), feel free to drop by on opening day. Email for more information.
