Am Wochenende war wieder eine der berühmt berüchtigten Gemeindehaus Lan-Partys.
Wie immer wurde viel gezockt und gesaugt und geredet. Diese Lan haben wir vor allem stundenlang Call of Duty 4 gespielt. Ein echt geiles Spiel, was richtig Spaß macht im Multiplayer.
Ansonsten muss ich erstmal meine Festplatte aufräumen, die ist nämlich ziemlich voll.
Außerdem -wie könnte es auch anders sein- habe ich mir während der Lan wieder ein bißchen neue Hardware gekauft. Mein PC hat jetzt 4 GB Ram und meine externe Festplatte hat wieder ein funktionierendes Gehäuse.
Jetzt muss ich nur noch rausfinden, wieso mein PC nicht mehr bootet bzw. erst nach mehreren Versuchen. Er bleibt an der Stelle hängen, wo er nach den angeschlossenen Laufwerken und Festplatten sucht. Ich tippe mal auf ein Problem mit einem Controller auf dem Mainboard. Oder hat jemand noch ne andere Idee?
Ich glaube ich muss den Rechner mal einschicken, Garantie hat er ja noch.
Wieso muss auf Lans immer irgendwas kaputt gehen?

LAN staat voor Local Area Network Dat betekend in het Nederlands eigenlijk : lokaal gebiedsnetwerk Voor een LAN heb je minimaal 2 apparaten ( computers ) nodig.

Een LAN netwerk wordt meestal gemaakt door verbindingen met UTP kabels, maar tegenwoordig zie je ook steeds meer draadloos ( Wi-Fi ). Als er grote afstander overbrugt moeten worden ( bijv. tussen steden landen of zelf continenten ) dan noem je het een wan.

LAN’s kom je meestal tegen in bedrijven. Maar omdat tegenwoordig, steeds meer huishoudens 2 of meer computers hebben, kom je ze thuis ook tegen.

Het nut van een LAN of netwerk is : Je kan makkelijk bestanden delen tussen computers ( maar ook tussen netwerkprinters en ander apparatuur ) en je kan gemakkelijk internet delen.

LAN-party

Op een LAN-party wordt de LAN/netwerk gebruikt om spelletjes te spelen met een grote groep mensen.

So, as you know, I work for KillaNet Technology. It’s a pretty nice company — I really have no complaints. Well, maybe some like how the boss will chain you up to your desk so you can’t leave… That’s beside the point though. KillaNet Technology hosts a LAN in the Vancouver area called Digital Storm LAN. This year is our second LAN that we’ve planned and organized.When organizing a LAN party, you have to have sponsors. One thing led to another and we have a sponsor called Blade Radio among others.

Blade Radio is an online radio station that specializes in Guild Wars. While the DJ broadcasts over streaming audio, they have small contests and prize give aways in Guild Wars. Sometimes these prizes are just small little items that are in Guild Wars, and sometimes these prizes are actual graphics cards for your computer. You never know what they’re going to throw at you.

The DJ’s are all great — I think my favorite DJ is Tesla– She’s pretty funny and holds a lot of small contests.

If you want to help Blade Radio, you can donate your in-game items to the DJ’s. (Each DJ has a Guild Wars account with a character by their DJ name on the website. E.g., Tesla is “DJ Tesla” in-game.) Maybe donate some Golden Eggs and Chocolate Bunnies to them from the easter drops last weekend.
