Hace 6 dias, la conocida cadena de noticias CNN se hacia eco de algo inimaginable hace unos años: Esto solo confirma el crecimiento del gaming a nivel mundial, ahora ya no solo podremos afirmar que es un deporte como cualquier otro, sino que ademas es olÃmpico. La preparación de este evento tan importante se estaba llevando a cabo desde hace mucho tiempo, pero hace tan solo unos dÃas se ha recibido el permiso oficial del Comité OlÃmpico Internacional, para la utilización de los sÃmbolos olÃmpicos, los cual han permitido finalmente anunciar este paso tan importante para el mundo del gaming. El torneo llamado Digital Games tendra un formato similar al del utilizado en los campeonatos internacionales de WCG, es decir, con qualifiers (clasificatorios) nacionales en LAN y los vencedores de estos conseguiran un viaje pagado a Shangay para disputar la fase final. Hoy la GGL(ver imagen)(Asociacion que se encarga de la organizacion del evento) ha anunciado más detalles sobre el torneo. Se sabe con absoluta certeza que irán a Shangay los atletas en las disciplinas FPS (Shooter, seguramente CounterStrike1.6) y RTS (Estrategia, seguramente Warcraft3), simuladores deportivos (Posiblemente PES08 y/o FIFA08), genero de aventuras, asà como una de las disciplinas de la serie “puzzle games”. Muy pronto darán comienzo las clasificaciones online para el qualifier nacional, para ello debeis registraros en la Web de la organización. Es más, falta poco para que comience la selección de los jugadores profesionales y estrellas de primera fila. Digital Game ya ha obtenido aval de las autoridades chinas y el Comité OlÃmpico Internacional. Aunque la capital del los Juegos OlÃmpicos será PekÃn, es en Shangai donde se realizará el torneo de fútbol, que con toda seguridad atraerá la máxima atención del público. I’ve been bad and not been updating, haven’t I? Oh well… Last night was a Lunar Eclipse. I actually did really want to see it, but it was cloudy and I ended up missing it. ARGH! The next Lunar Eclipse that we can see will be on December 10, 2010. For those also that missed the eclipse, I point you towards School: Hasn’t gotten all that much better. Professor still sucks. Midterm Monday and his tests are basically memorization of the homework… great… Valentine’s Day: Instead of doing something Thursday night, Linz and I went out to eat and then went bowling on the arsenal for a little bit on Friday night. All in all, a great time! Work: eh. I get paid, what can I really say? Home: Haven’t been getting home before 8:00 PM most of the days of the week Comming up weekend: Hockey games on Friday and Saturday, as well as a SNAPL LAN party, all free. Come out, hang out, play some games, have a good time. Wee!
Before this week’s LAN party make sure that you sign on to Xbox Live in Halo 3 and download the auto-update. I know some of the auto-updates from Halo 2 effected LAN play and there’s every chance that’s going to be the case with Halo 3. All you have to do between now and then is get on Halo 3 while connected to Xbox Live and it will prompt you to update automatically.
