Del 29 de febrero al 2 de marzo en Barcelona se celebrará Fiberparty, la que para muchos es la mejor LAN party de España. Se trata de un evento al que acuden muchísimas personas para jugar en red, compartir archivos, y mucho más.

Todos contarán con una gran velocidad de conexión a una LAN (red de área local) y a Internet. También habrá conferencias, actividades, workshops y torneos de los juegos más populares, con hasta 4.000 euros en premios. (more…)

FGL is an online platform where players from around the world meet to compete against each other, in professional and amateur leagues as well as in tournaments. It will also, be a place where the fans of videogames have access to the most recent news about games, teams and players.

The league will kick off with six games that include: Counter-Strike: Source, Call of Duty 4, Delta Force: Black Hawk Down, Pro Evolution Soccer 2008, FIFA 2008, and Unreal Tournament 3. The league doesn’t include CS1.6 as they do not wish to compete against larger, well established leagues that already hold events for 1.6.

Ricordo ancora quando in prima superiore sognavo di usare i pc della mia scuola per fare un lan party.
Ebbene,  qualche giorno fa scopriamo che oggi avremmo finito le lezioni alla ricreazione, poi si poteva restare a scuola o andare fuori. Quale migliore occasione per fraggarsi? Suonata la campana abbiamo mangiato e siamo andati in una delle aule di computer. Il tempo di copiare i files di quake 3 dalla chiavetta ai pc e la sfida è iniziata.
Fino a mezzogiorno è stato un susseguirsi di deathmatch uno più cruento dell’altro, con ben 6 giocatori e 3 spettatori. Poi quel rompic**** del tecnico di laboratorio è entrato: “Cosa ci fate qua? C’è un docente che ha programmato dell’attività didattica??”
Cosa potevamo rispondere, se non “ehm, a dire il vero no”, e poi andarcene?
Resoconto finale: 1 ora e un quarto di quake 3 a 6 giocatori nel laboratorio della scuola.
Quasi come l’avevo sognato qualche anno fa ;D
