I am so surprised that there are many single people in USA than in Europe.When I go to a party in USA, I found the single people out number the couple.It is not the case in Europe.Most people there are couple. My friend told me last night that she loves to be single, she cannot imagine how to be a couple.She told me that deep down she loved to have a partner.As she could not find one, she settled to stay single.That is a sad thought.Anyone would want to be loved.By the look of it, my friend has surrendered to stay single because she cannot find a partner. Is this a mind set thing or this is a culture ?The Chinese people would not allowed anyone to be single.When I was younger, I dared not tell any family member I was single, they would be out there match making for me.They started looking to match me with someone when I was 14.It was quite pressure.By the time I was 17, my mother already had a man who was a doctor for me to get engaged to.As soon as I heard my relative told me that my parents had got me a husband, I quickly found a man myself with the help of Feng Shui. A little over a week ago, I hosted a LAN party with my nextdoor neighbour for some mates of mine. It wasn’t a very big affair, but we didn’t want a huge event. All in all, 6 of us attended. We’d found a perfect venue for free, we had all the networking and power we’d need, and everything was going perfectly. Famous last words. When everyone arrived, we set them all up and got everyone on the network. Then came the question, “What shall we play first?”. It was decided that C&C Generals: Zero Hour would be the first game, and it was around this time I learnt the first two lessons of the day. The first one is to make sure everyone has their own disc and serial number with them, and the second, make sure everyone has the same version of software. After an hour of reinstalls and swapping cd’s, we finally got a game off the ground. After a couple of rounds of Generals, we thought we’d play some Counter Strike: Source. Here came the next two lessons, make sure you test all of your games before you leave home, and make sure Steam is in offline mode. Only 3 ofus could play any steam games, because people forgot to check their games were working. All in all, it went pretty good, and by the end of the night, everyone was asking when the next one would be.
